I know Hawg166 is at red flag but maybe one of you can help. I received a picture of 76-0540 (McClellan air Museum) door art and it looks a lot like the one off 78-0642?? Do any of you know if "Scooby" may have worked at New Orleans during desert Storm? 76-0540 78-0642 Ugly But Well Hung Edited by - Dice-man on Mar 28 2005 11:03 AM |

Hi Dice I was at Barnes for 24 years and I know for a fact that "Scooby" was not down in New Orleans during Desert Storm but I think that he wishes he was down there now instead of where he's at. I will let Hawg 166 explain. "GLAD TO HAVE BEEN THERE AND HAVE BEEN PROUD TO HAVE SERVERED" |

Thanks for the info Michael. There has to be some connection somewhere they are just to close (looks to be the same "sticker") for it to be otherwise. Ugly But Well Hung |

I am the ACC on 642 and that Scooby pic was just a generic picture that the sign shop came up with to put on the ladder door. There is no connection whatsoever between "Scooby" and the New Orleans jet at all. Scooby is no longer on the plane and the entire "Scooby" door art era for 642 is also long gone. We shall see what the future brings this empty door. |

I belive 642's was swapped-out with 540's because the design is to clsoe to be by chance but, I guess I'll never know for sure..thanks for the replys! Ugly But Well Hung |

No Dice Scooby did that down at the AGE shop on the vynil stencil machine. He did it just for a short term as his door was getting ready to be painted by a local artist. The door was going to reflect a city skyline of Springfield with various native characters from springfield Mass. Among them would have been a Gee Bee Sportster, a Dr Seuss character, a basketball, etc etc. However his abduction by the Indiana Department of Corrections and his subsequent change of employment (license plate manufacturing) has caused the door and wheel caps to be stripped of all Scooby emblems forever and the door remains empty untill the new Crew Chief can get it done. But the Scooby decal that was on it was just a blow up of the decal that had been on the wheel caps for a many year. By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson |
