Yeah I know, there are already links on this site devoted but here is the link with the detailed skinny. http://www.defenselink.mil/brac/pdf/Vol ... D_BRAC.pdf The Air Force details start on page 171. Looks like Pope is selected to move both squadrons to Moody. Can you say A-10 Wing at Moody. Go Ugly Early ! No body's ugly after 2:00 A.M. |

Have mixed feelings about this one. I love the fact that the A-10's will be back in the local area but I'm sure going to hate seeing all those jobs which were created by having the pilot training here. Hmmm, now just how can a get back into Active Duty and assigned here at Moody? capche-capche da - we go forward together Faugh ah Ballaugh -Clear The Way- |

Back at Moody!? Wonder if it has anything to do with the rescue guys there... Will the Group still be 'part' of the 4th at Seymour? I kinda got a kick out of the fact that the two units with histories that began with 'volunteers' (Eagle Squadron and Flying Tigers) both became part of the same unit. |

I'll be VERY happy to see the old girls in the sky over south Georgia...I do agree it is sad about the contractor jobs though... |

I did a small FOL out of Moody last year when we were doing Combat hammer at Eglin. I loved that little base. I really wished I could have stayed a bit longer. Everyone that I met was happy to see the Hogs flying out of there for a few days. I think this will be good news for many of them. The best part about it is that the range is so close that you can see your jet working the range. By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson Edited by - Hawg166 on May 16 2005 07:35 AM |
