Just curious, was walking back from Subway sandwiches on base today when I heard a familiar sound...and looked up to see an A-10 over Lackland AFB. Wasn't doing a flyby, too high, and we don't get many Hawgs in this area. Anyone know who it might be? D-M is the closest Hawg base I can think of (or New Orleans, either is a long haul), plus he seemed to be heading north-northwest. Not much south of us, except Mexico. Are A-10s being used for Homeland Defense, much like they were during 9/11?!? <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> Cheers! M2 |

That could be one coming to Hill from one of the southern bases, I believe they take that route sometime and you did say a single A-10? Ugly But Well Hung Edited by - Dice-man on Aug 13 2005 05:50 AM |

Dice Yep, a lone Hawg. Still a sight for sore eyes. The problem is we have a Reserve C-5 unit here, and the GE TF-39s sound a like like the TF-34s... Cheers! M2 |
