I've heard a few stories about unskilled workers being hired enmass for the EGI install in the 90's by the Depot. Was wondering if anyone remembered specifics or gripes with the installation of EGI on the HAWG. Also, were their any large scale changes to the installation design during the install?

The EGI mod kit was originally produced by Draper Labs (Cambridge, MA). I remember being sent replacement RG179 video connectors because the first kits used RG180 connectors on the smaller RG179 video wire (TVM, TVM CU, AVS). I can send you an old email to your .MIL addy, I still have from AFETS. The workmanship also varied depending on where it was installed. This was after depot moved to Hill AFB from Sacramento CA.

Thx kungfu, I'd like to see that. Was just curious what kind of issues that mod created.
