Does anyone know why the Avenger is slightly to the left on the nose instead of directly center? I was thinking that there might be some conflict with the internals and that was the only place they could make room. It seems that if it were angled, it would affect the shots over longer distances. Thanks guys!

WestEnd,

I'm guessing (and it is a guess, the real Hog experts will be awake soon) it's to make room for the front nose gear.

But you're probably about to find how I got my 'custom' title...

WestEnd, the gun (looking at the barrels) is slightly off-set to the RIGHT so the firing barrel (about the 9 O'clock) falls down the center-line of the aircraft. The nose gear is off set to the LEFT to give it clearance to retract and miss the barrels running down the center-line.

Ahhhhh, it all makes sense now. Pretty interesting idea there to have it fire from the 3 o clock barrel. I'm just trying to pick up some tid bits around here before I start training for my wings. Thanks guys for the quick and informative replies.

That little "tid bit" won't get you jack in pilot training.

Maybe not. I don't think this fact will affect my future at all, but I enjoy knowing it regardless. But after reading some of the topics in these forums, I have learned quite a few things that I consider useful and important. I obviously am in no position to be one dispensing information, since I have very little to give. Simply put, I am here to learn from the members here, I know that they know their stuff. I don't mean to sound disrepectful, but I don't think you should be bitter just because I'm curious.

I'm not bitter. I just know that the relationship between the nose gear and the gun on the Hog are of no use to you for the next year. Concentrate on the stuff you need to and leave the trivia for later.

Aimpoint, airspeed. Three green, no red, no amber...or something like that.
