<font size=5></font id=size5><font color=maroon></font id=maroon> I, have never seen the beautiful sight of a Warthog swooping in to save my life like I saw that bastard laying on some canister charges that stopped a whole Division of bad guys .. that I will ever forget. We were dead, as we had shot all our ammo and had run out of everything.. and we figured no body cared.. THANK GOD FOR THE US AIR FORCE.. Who knew !!! The 2nd Infantry HQ came up later with support, but to this day, the USAF saved my ass. Thank You Air Force.. and keep those Warthogs online!!!!!! |

Hmmm...A-10s in combat....2nd Infantry....Korea....hey 2nd ID, how about a few more specifics, maybe we can help straighten out the story. I see your are a Ranger, so I'm not calling you out, just asking about some of the details. Something's not right here. Coach |

Hey Coach, I could be wrong here, but it sounded to me like maybe a USAF plane or person saved their life, but NOT a hog. That was my take of it anyway..... <img src=icon_smile_question.gif border=0 align=middle> But it's hard to make sense of that post. The one who stopped the bad guys was a bastard.... Hard to tell who stopped who. But I think his opening line kept the hog out of it.....maybe. Heck, I don't know, the more I go back and read it, the more cornfusing it gets! I think he's talking about Iraq, I remember hearing that the 2nd ID deployed over there while I was stationed in Korea during 2003 - 2004. I'm not an english teacher, but I'm pretty sure he says he has never seen a sight as pretty as the A-10 swooping in to save his ass. Secondly, 2 ID stayed in Korea (is still there), only one of their brigades deployed to the desert, so it doesn't make sense that 2 ID HQ would be deployed. Again, I think we need to have 2ID clarify his story, because I have an idea of where he may have been when something like this happened if he was a Ranger at the time. Coach |

The 2nd Brigade of 2ID has begun it's redeployment from Iraq to Fort Carson. They are being realigned on post with to create a full division plus a heavy brigade. All due to be done in eary 2007. Assets from the airfield here have been gone for some time now on their second trip to Iraq. Those elements are due to start redeploying back early next year. Perhaps when he stated the HQ element sent support, he meant that HQ 2ID sent a detachment. Pretty common for Army deployment doctrine. I was in for nearly 8 years and got after the Gulf War. However, I will temper my statement by saying that without eleboration from the original poster, we will all be guessing. |
