Say an airframe's original engines need to be replaced. Is that airframe obligated to get its new engines from the original engine maker? Just curious |

unless the original contract specifies that, i doubt it. "If we are not victorious, let no man return alive." Gen George S. Patton |

I dont think so either. I know in the airline industry there are often times when a jet can be purchased with your choice of engines. A lot of corporate jets are the same way. The eraly model Lears for instance can be upgraded with different engines with thrust buckets or new fuel controls etc. As long as the mods are approved and done under license there isnt a problem. By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson |

if an airframe needs its engines changed, if the engines are internal, rather than pod mounted, they may have to be the same, as they may not fit the mountings. <img src="http://www.boomspeed.com/megazone23/su27.jpg" border=0> ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US |
