V-22 Forced to Make Emergency Landings June 30, 2004 -- A V-22 Osprey aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing aboard a Marine Corps amphibious ship during tests this week -- the second time in 10 days that serious problems required this particular aircraft to land immediately, according to the Navy. Osprey makes emergency landing A V-22 Osprey tilt-rotor transport had to make an emergency landing Monday after an internal engine component broke apart. Well at least it didnt crash and kill anyone. |

The Osprey has been given too many chances. It's a great concept, but too complex to work in the real world. Whatever aircraft wins the presidential helicopter competition should also replace the Sea Knights. |

I heard a rumor that the Air Force has been looking into purchasing the V-22 to help replace 53's and CAS assets. |
