THURSDAY THE NORTHERN POND HAD A FLY-BY OF A B-29 "FIFI". SHOOK THE HOUSE,AND BOY SHE SURE LOOKED PRETTY FLYING JUST LIKE THE LAST TIME IN 1984 SCOTT AFB OPEN HOUSE. WILLARD FIELD URBANA IL. HAD IT AND A B-24 ON DISPLAY FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS AND THIS WEEK THE FLYING "PREIST" ARE AROUND WITH THEIR PLANES PLUS A P-40E I THINK IN FLYING TIGER COLORS,I'M GOING TO TRY AND GET SOME PICS. PRESS TO TEST |

A couple of years back when I was in my juniour year at the University I did some restoration work on the B29 for the New England Air Museum as an internship. Quite a complex fire control system with a primary, secondary and a tertiary control system for the four main turrets. Actually a nightmare to wire but way cool when you think about it. By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson |
