That's not realy new. During the Kosovo air War in 1999, an USAF ex-change pilot flew combat missions with one of our Dutch F-16AM fighters. Later on he was rewarded with a medal for these operations by the Dutch Secretary of Defence. |

Now why don't they do this with load teams? I would have been interested in learning to load a Tornado while at Holloman. The beaurucrats don't give us enlisted much space to stretch, even when I was going <i>less</i>distance to get to the Tornadoes than I did for the Nighthawks. Granted, I don't know about teaching the Germans the stealth, but from the little talk I had, they wouldn't have had much trouble with me on the Tornado, provided the paperwork was good. Ignorance may be bliss, but it sure ain't fun! |
