We have great pointy heads at Barnes we really do but our pointy heads wouldnt help on a refuel unless we could bring it in the hangar so that the bouser could be at an optimum temperature to receive the depuddled fuel. But thats ok because they are good at pointy head stuff so I dont complain.
Its really funny a few years back we were at Avon Park for a TDY and the whole gaggle of us went to a Ruby Tuesdays for dinner. There was a whole table of Pointy Heads and they bought our table a round of beers and we reciprocated by buying them a round of milks in plastic cups with lids and straws. Its a tradition now for me to do it.

WE HAD SOME GOOD POINTY HEADS BACK IN THE 76TH DAYS,LIKE TRICKYLIL HERE ON THE BOARD,
THEY HAD NO PROBLEM HELPING OUT.
BUT I DO REMEMBER A COUPLE OF "MIDNITE" CAL'S ON THE TOTALIZERS<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

WE EVEN HAD A CREWCHIEF THAT WAS A POINTY HEAD,HE WAS ASSIGNED TO THE APG LINE BUT WHEN NEEDED HE WENT OVER TO THE SPECIALIST SIDE.
THIS WAS 1985
WEAPON TROOPS WERE PRETTY GOOD TOO,VINNE AND HIS BOYS ALONG WITH THE "LOADTOAD MASTER" AND HIS GROUP TOOK CARE OF YOU,SUPERVISION WAS THE PROBLEM,BUT WE DID WHAT WE WANTED ANYWAY.

THE WORST THING TOTALLY HANDS DOWN WAS OUR PHASEDOCK'S FRIDAY NITE SELL THE JET BACK WITH ALL OP'S CHECKS,PANELS AND TOW JOB TO THE PAD.
BECAUSE THEY ALWAYS GAVE THE DOCK'S FRIDAY'S OFF(FOR ALL THE HARD WORK)<img src=newicons/anim_lol.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=newicons/anim_lol.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=newicons/anim_lol.gif border=0 align=middle>KNOWNING VERY WELL THE JET WAS IN THE SAME STATE AT 0700 FRIDAY AS IT WAS AT 1530 FRIDAY AFTERNOON.
<img src=newicons/anim_furious.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=newicons/anim_furious.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=newicons/anim_bs.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=newicons/anim_cussing.gif border=0 align=middle>

BACKSHOPS LIKE GUN AND ENGINE AND I'LL THROW IN PMEL SHOPS WERE GOOD TOO.
PLUS IT NEVER EVER HURT TO KNOW THE "WRSK KIT" KEEPERS IN SUPPLY THEY'D ALWAYS DO ALL THE PAPERWORK AND DELIVER TO THE SPOT WITH A PHONE CALL.

MONEY TALKS,B.S. JUST PILES UP.

You're walking a thin line Billy! I started the Ruby tuesday incident sending all those $5.00 buckets of beer to you booger hookers! Funny how crew chief tasks are in avioinics 623's, but not vice versa. You're part of the the second biggest union in the USAF stop the crying.

wasn't try to get a fight going between crew chiefs and pointy heads....being a pointy head myself I would just like the idea of things being a litle more airman friendly and not so much written in the language of engineers. most kids coming in these days are 18 yr old kids and have a hard enough time grasping things, and to have all these new bells and whistles comng down the pipeline they are in for a whole new bal game coming to this jet in the next few years.
Finally just want to say, I am fully crew chief qualified and am a DCC on an aircraft while still being a pointy head!!!!

Crew chiefs get it done but Specs have all the fun!!!!

(union weapons troops still suck though)

Why did they take down the A-10C Page?

That's really disappointing...

Dice, something has always bothered me about the new cockpit but it wasn't until today as I was driving up the dreaded I-95 that I tumbled to what it was. I didn't see a Turn and Bank in that picture. Did I miss it?

Hey guys - the new digital fuel id was tested at DM last week and it didn't go very well. Not at all what was expected. Not sure what problems they had, but its back to the drawing board on that one.........

Chief, I'm not sure what you mean, the ADI is there (and the stand-by ADI will be on the missing panel) so what turn and bank are you talking about?

Boomer, I'm posting the cockpit shots again.

Turn and Banks? Hell that thing will have an ADI, Standby ADI, Hud Indication, and dual ARS one in each MFCD. THe pilots will have more Atittude refereances than they know what to do with.

Ah, but will it change the pilots' attitudes?

So, you have trouble. We all have trouble. Build a bridge and get over it.
