quote:
The Hawgsmoke competition is an unofficial event, in the Air Force vernacular, therefore it would be very difficult to get 50+ A-10's to Europe on a weekend cross country.

Wow the last time I heard the word "vernacular" I was standing in the Wing King's office. He was reaming one of my troops that had gotten a DUI the night before. Must be a word they teach officers to use to confuse the enlisted force.

It's going to be at DM in late March not April. Dutchy, I'm hearing a website will be up and running by the first of the year. I will have more info on my site this weekend.

Hmmmm...I think I know where I might have my retirement ceremony!

Seriously, this would be bad timing for me as I will be just starting my new job (whatever it turns out being) and I won't have any vacation ('leave' for you still in the military) saved up. I might be able to take leave...errrr...vacation without pay as I will be on terminal leave until 31 March, so it won't be like I am losing any money. D-M is about a 12-13 hour drive from San Antonio, all IH-10 west, 867 miles according to GoogleEarth.

Hmmmmmm....

Cheers! M2

Hawgsmoke 2006 coming soon near you! Of course that depends where you live and in my case, not next door! If some of you guys are planning to attend or be in the area during the comp, it would be interesting to meet and share a few cold ones, Heineken on top of list! Some members will understand right away!

I'm out! I start my new job on 27 Feb, so little chance of getting away for a week the month following. Would love to go, but it will have to wait until 2008!

Cheers! M2
