Congrads jackb, Valdosta and Moody AFB is not a bad place to be. So you, and I'll sure a lot more people soon, are going to be in the \"new\" Flying Tigers unit.

From Osan to AK and now south GA, thta's going to be quite the chance for ya!

It was my first choice. I could have dealt with pretty much anything with the exception of Beale. I thing that would have made me hang myself. Everything I own is illegal in the DPRK (Democratic Peoples Republic of Kalifornia) forget about my guns, even my truck is a no-no over there (no emissions on a diesel except there). Plus I have zero desire to work the U-2. Beale would have been the absolute worst worst worst case scenario in my eyes.

Everyone at work except me and one other guy got orders last Thursday, which was weird b/c they were no supposed to start flowing until Tuesday. A \"friend\" of mine (he's gonna get a punch in the mouth now) emailed me this morning saying I got orders and I'm going to Beale. I almost threw up when I read it, I got dizzy, started sweating, I really felt sick. I grabbed a recall roster and started calling people to ask WTF if it was true. No answers from the first two people, but I got a hold of my best friend there on the third try. it went like this:
Me - Hey man.....uhhh, do I have orders.
Him - Yeah.
Me - .....uuuhhhh, where am I going?
Him - Oh, dude, I cant lie to you.. (I'm really sweating bullets now) Yu going to Moody.

They all wanted to fuck with me and tell me Beale, but my friend said he didn't think I could handle that type of \"joke\"
Now everything will fall perfectly into place. I'll be buying a house soon too! I already got my Certificate of Eligibility from the VA, now I have to call USAA and get started. I think I'm going to try and take PTDY in the beginning of August to finalize the purchase of a house and I already have my reservation on the ferry made to leave AK, I depart Whitter on 8/30.

Maybe I can get my old jet back, that would be sweet.

I'm glad for you Guys, what a way to finish up your time.
It sounds to me like the Old days for sure and they just took All the
\"Old Guys\" and said \"Oh, Hell might as well make Moody a Retirement home for \"Old Hog Farmers\"

Some of the \"Real Old Guys\" can remember when Moody had F-4E's there :o  Hey I remember that

Go Going Bro !

Speaking of orders, I finally got mine. Heading to Hill AFB to work F-16 avionics. Found a place to live in Roy and will be moving on the 27th of May. OK Dice and M&M, I did promise you beer so you'll be able to collect in a couple of weeks. Should I bring some \"real beer\" or are you too used to 3.2? If you want real beer, let me know what kind.

I don't think anyone is going to Nellis, but I only know what I was emailed (still on leave) I was told 3 are going to DM, 5 to Beale, 1 to Edwards, 1 to Eglin and the rest of us to Moody.

I was thinking about stopping in Vegas on my way out, but Andy will probably be gone by then and my friend at Creech will probably be deployed.

If you see Kenny, ask him to email me please - I just put the atv I bought from him on the for sale board and never got the paperwork from him before he left.

jackb: Damn, I knew I should have taken Eilson as a follow-on. I didn't, because I figured with my luck I would have ended up with orders to Nellis from there anyway...ohh well. I will let Kenny know when I see him, I heard he gets back from leave today. I will double check with Andy, too, and see when he leaves...but he'll probably be gone before you head out.

I always womdered this guys,
Why do Hog keepers get sent to \"Black Cats\"?I've heard several guys that went from A-10's to U-2's then back to A-10'S it just seems kind of strange.

The U-2 and A-10 are both covered under the J shred.
Predators are too, and if I'm not mistaken, they used to be also covered by the J shred only, but now anyone can work them. I know an F-15 guy at Indian Springs right now.
SSgt 7 levels still retain their shred, but TSgt 7levels can go to any fighters.

I just got an email forwarded to me from a friend who is an instructor at DM....

Effective 31 Oct 07 the shred will be dropped for 5 levels as soon as they sew on SrA.
Only 3 levels and A1C 5 levels will retain their shred. As soon as they put on SrA, they lose it.

Well that explains that, I had a \"Z\" shred most of the time I was in, until
RIVET came along than I don't remember what I had because I went to Trash Haulers and was getting paid a \"Re-enlistment Bonus \" for Tactical Aircraft.
AF/ACC office (Finance) tried to get it stopped but Randolph told them \"No he still holds the AFSC as his Primary.
I really still think If I would of stayed in , within the next year I would of been moved since the C-141's at Travis were being turned over Completely to the AFARTS and I would of been sent back to A-10's.

Oh well Goose

Snacko? Sort of like the guy in charge of the flightline snack shop set up in the AMU?

How many remember the good old "Dog n Dew" runs to Blue Section in the Flying Tigers Days at England AFB?

I remember dumping many a buck in the flightline snackshack while at Red/Green Flags at Nellis.
Even before those days when we only got a "Roach Coach" visit! The COach's werent bad as long as you knew what to eat from them!
