Howdy all,
Its been awhile but I am back crewing on the A-10 here at Osan.
glad I don't have to deal with the F-16 anymore.
Dice if you need me to match any tail #s just let me know.
I am crewing 80-0243. All in all its a pretty good jet. I am still working out all the bugs. It got back from Depot when I got here.
Take care

Nice doorarts. One question about door nr. 3. \"Why is that an English plane=Spitfire? Is that because the American volunteers in England at WW2?\"

Koobster, thanks for the info. BTW are you planning on doing a door?

Dutchy, the phrase on the door comes a book titled \"God is my copilot\" and I believe the author flew Spitfires in WWII.

I haven't desided yet dice.
They do thing scewed ud up here.
The pilot gets to come up with the door art.
I just as soon leave the door gray than let someone who never even flies the jet do it.
If it was up to me I would name it \"old dog\" and put and old dog laying on a porch next to a shot gun with one eye open with a sign that says Dont wake he still has one hell of a bite. :D

Two reasons, I am the oldest DCC and its an old ACFT.

Actually it's from a poem called High Flight. The pilot was from the RAF and did fly a spitfire.

Dice,

The Book \"God is my Co-Pilot \" was written by General Robert Scott Jr,
AKA Col. Scott of the 23rd AVG Flying Tigers WW2

It was about his time with the Flying Tigers in China, also its been made into a movie.

Right poem, but Pilot Officer John Gillespie Magee, Jr was an American flying for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), not the RAF. He was assigned to No 412 Fighter Squadron out of Digby, England, and did indeed fly a Spitfire V...

I can understand your feeling on this one. Have you asked your pilot, he may not give a shit what you put on the door.

Either way thanks for getting me the info on these doors.

And when it's wheels-up, it's his jet and he can change it then, if he wants to.

sorry been sick lately.
The 2nd door is 224

A few doors have been painted over lately, but I will keep looking for the other doors.

Call the Ops Desk and find your pilot. Tell him/her what you want to put on the door, he/she will probably be all for it.

Personally, I would be a bit peeved if my CC did it without even trying to contact me. After all, all of our names are on it, not just the CC or the pilot. Don't forget the second wipe either.

Can't help it if the pilot doesn't fly it often...maintenance puts the jets in the lines without ops input.

Coach

Thanks again for the info Koobster! I would also like to say Coach is giving some good advice there and I would really like to see your idea on a door...give it a shot.
