Yeah Dice, it has started. The whole thing is going to be interesting before it's all done. Not sure how the Connecticut piece fits into the whole thing, the lawsuit, according to some people, has merit but others say they can take the hardware, can't touch the people. This round of BRAC has left me both bewildered and confused, none of it from the Air Force side passes the logic test.

Illinois lost its court battle to keep the F-16'S but will get some other kind of mission? But who knows what it is.
But the Gov did write the President asking for "Replacement equipment that was "State Owned" that was left by request of DOD or destroyed in Iraq"
No comment from the White House.

Their saying if the "F-16'S are DOD assets , but The State has to buy all the equipment for maintance and etc... for The National Guard, then the DOD can replace it so they can buy new equipment for their remaining NG Troops.

Which really If you think about it makes sense.
Indy has to Buy the equipment ETC.. to take care of the F-16's,so I still think its "Pay-Back" for the "FF" over in Afganyland.

06/07 will be interesting years for the A-10 with BRAC, SLEP1, and PE. Don't know how it will all shake-out in the end but the A-10 community will never be the same.

When all pieces are put on the board this situation rings familiar. Didn't F-111 go out this way. With major struc/avionics upgrades while the program was lossing money and aircraft?
