Congrats to the 303FS from Whiteman AFB, MO. They took home the Top Team award. In the next day or two, the Hawgsmoke2006.com website will have all of the results, some new videos, and pics from this year's event.

will they still have a Hogsmoke in 08, with the Cajuns disbanded, and I though the 103rd from Ct was disbanding due to Brac. The 104th switching over to Eagles.

Are there any other Hog units going away? :(

I told you Billy,

Arkansas isnt a bad place, less snow ,cheaper to live, fishing, hunting,
Every truck comes with a Gun Rack,Rifle and Shotgun in it, pistol under the seat, one headlight out and a Dog in the truck bed.

My kind of place.
Illinois is really starting to PISS ME-OFF, I'm looking for another State if we can.
I've had enough Here!Plus the Hog's at FT Smith, both kinds.

Me too, Dice. I hope to go in '08, and I was stationed at Mtn Home AFB after I left Bentwaters in 1984. I like Boise, but I am sure it has changed quite a bit from 20 years ago...

Cheers! M2

Inkjet, I hear rumors that the results aren't final. Any truth to that?

I heard the scoring was very contentious. May not be official yet.

"GUNSMOKE" AND "WILLIAM TELL" competition's
This wouldnt be an issue right now.
We'd would of been "Arm Chair HAWGDOG'Pilots and Keepers" and pointing out everything at home drinking Beer and eatting Pizza

Man those were good day's

Yeah the results are contentious. I just recovered our 5 jets a few hours ago. I didnt get a wag as to wether or not it would really make a difference though. Big surprise though for me was BC they got the dead last place "Broke BDU Award" and the "Clown Award". I dont know much about the scoring but those guys are pretty high speed so thats surprising.

I know two years ago had they a team at the Hawgsmoke. They flew not with their own planes, but they did get planes from another squadron.

Inkjet, maybe Coach? any update to this? I keep hearing things and none of them are good. I hope it's only the rumor mill at work because if it isn't, it really punches holes in the credibility of the judging.

I just spoke to the LTC in charge of the entire event. They are looking at the scoring right now. He expects to get back to me at the end of the day to be able to post the winners on the website. I will post here when the results go up.

No I spoke with one of jet jockies after I recovered him. And he said the scoring was contentious but they score not only on how you shoot and bomb, but on how few errors you make in your planning, your timing etc etc. I guess a lot more goes into it than what a maintaners really cares about. Personally I dont give a shit when the guy flies overhead in my jet and neither do most crew chiefs or maintaners. All I want to know is that my jet..........oops sorry Goose I meant our jet, shacked the bad guys before they got to the good guys.

The final results are posted on the high speed site now... it will be a day or two before they are on the slow speed site.

Dice, I will be finishing the video in a few days. We have to put some music we have licenses for onto it. I will send you a DVD as soon as it is done.

For everyone else, the DVD will be for sale starting this week. It will have the 30th Anniversary video and tons of pics from Hawgsmoke 2006 for $10. The movie will also be available to view online.

Thanks Inkjet. Had the results changed I would have been absolutely flabbergasted..tough to do at my age. Unfortunately for all concerned, the fact that the results were, to use Coach's word, contentious, means that someone lost focus on what this was all about. There will be units that feel it wasn't a clean win for Whiteman and somebody else got robbed. Had the results changed, there would be those that felt Whiteman got robbed, truly a no win situation for you guys. For that fact alone, Hawgsmoke 2006 will forever go in the books as the one that was AFU.
