LOL!

Yeah, i saw that posted at the Porsche board i frequent.
He ate that white 928 for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Mine runs the 1/4 in the high 13's...so yeah...he'd toast me- in a straight line(IIRC the truck ran an 11.4 at like 120mph right?).

Heheheh, let me get him in the twisties or on the highway...probably be a much different story. ;)

In any case...that is one SERIOUSLY fast ass truck!

Here's a pic of my car i just took today...check out the massive intake plumbing i just installed. 2x3" ID cold air intake runners. I'm also getting a Borla 3" off road XR-1 racing exhaust installed saturday. :)

Hopefully the latest mods will get me in the mid-low 13 range.

Lacking a Dyno i'll have to venture a guess.

Based on last season's best ET of 14.02 @ 106.6mph and using the following formula: Horsepower based on ET: ___Weight___

(ET/5.825)^3

it was 275 Bhp for a 3000lb vehicle(which is what i've gotten the 928 down to from it's factory curb weight of 3200lbs).

Using the formula for Horsepower based on trap speed: (MPH/234)^3 x w = HP it was approx. 300hp.

Since then i've added the cold air intakes, an additional 10psi of fuel rail pressure, and added 2 more degrees if Ign. advance. Once i have the new exhaust installed it should be in the 310-340hp range, roughly.

The top speed i've reached in the car is 157mph @ 4800rpm with a 250lb passenger in top gear(VERY late at night on a LONG empty stretch of highway). The engine redlines at 6000rpm, giving me a theoretical top speed of approx 170mph without the extra weight of my rather large former repo partner, lol. That was before the latest series of modifications. Suffice it to say that whatever the top speed actually is it is faster than i will ever drive it on American roads. It takes a LOT of highway to reach those kinds of speeds.

I plan to remove the AC system in the spring to save myself another 75lbs or so. The Borla exhaust will also save me approx 45lbs vs the stock exhaust.

My GN is still MUCH faster in a straight line though...

<img src="http://www.worldaffairsboard.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=16878" border=0>

That one puts out about 450 horseys at the crank @ 18psi boost and ran a best time of 12.4 @ about 115mph three years ago.

nice VERY nice, your last car sounds real cool, theoretically with the new engine mods your porsche should redline a couple of "little bars" higher than usual.

My Car Is *drumroll*

A 1.2 Vauxhall Corsa Merit that has *hold your laughter*

73 BHP and tops out at 135 Mph a pic of it should be below if not go to http://images.google.co.uk/images?q=Cor ... gle+Search and its the white 3 door one (well its REALLY similar)

A l'il 75horse shot of N2O would do wonders for that baby. ;)

PS...my first car was a 1984 VW Rabbit 4speed, lol.

PSS...I still have the GN too. :)

I sold my 1968 LeMans ZZ4 to pay for the 928.

All it takes is time and money bro.

I've seen compact Honda boxes that ran 10 flats at the track.

It was a GMC 4x4, and I remember a car mag pic of it blowing a Ferrari off the line, with all four paws smoking!

Hajji, you can run, but why die tired?

Hey Snipe, I'm not sure if you remember or not but I totalled my Mustang a while back. Well, if all goes well(final convincing of the wife), in a few years, I'll finally have something to compete with your Porche...

BTW, are you still in the repo biz? If so, keep an eye out for Fox body Mustangs for me...the Father-In-Law is in the market for a donor car...

Maybe it was KMH Homer. ;)

Hogmender, Yeah, i'm still in the repo bidness. If your FIL wants a Fox body i can certainly get him one. Nice, not nice, whatever, lol. You're still in Texas though aren't ya bro? Have you looked on ebay?
VERY nice Cobra's. :) I've always had a soft spot for those. Keep us updated!

WilliamZ, the 68 LeMans is more commonly known as the GTO. The only external difference is that the GTO had a painted nose piece, extra badging, and a rear wing. Very similar cars)depending on the option level of the LeMans). My LeMans was powered by a GM performance 355cid(5.8L) ZZ4 roller cam motor featuring aluminum Corvette heads, 10:1 compression, 4 bolt mains, and 350horsepower stock. The motor was not stock...and was in the mid 400hp range. The power ran through a TH400 auto trans with a 3800rpm stall into a 12 bolt positraction rear with 4.10 gears. It also had a full ladder bar suspension.
The LeMans ran a best time of 12.2sec @120mph in the 1/4 mile(on cheater slicks) the one time i had it to the track. Unfortunately, it also had four wheel drum brakes and was about as easy to stop as a runaway locomotive! I considered the car unfit for the street, and rarely drove it. Like all highly modified hot rods, it also had a penchant for breaking stuff. That is the real beauty of the Porsche...it is as reliable as a Honda AND fast.

Hmmm....a burnout picture? That can definitely be arranged for ya 30 mike mike! ;)

Snipe, my FIL is looking for a Fox body that is, for the most part, unmodified. Mild mods are ok. He's building a Cobra kit car too, but will be starting his sooner than me...this spring. The parts needed for the kit are: engine, tranny(T-5), rear drive train, front suspension(steering rack, spindles, lower control arms), radiator, gauge cluster and, wiring (engine and dash). The donor can be in awesome shape or a totalled piece of crap. Just as long as these parts are good. He's not sure if he wants to rebuild the engine or not. It will really depend on the condition of it and the abuse it's had. I found a car here in Texas the other day for 3,000. He said it would be worth checking out but didn't really want to spend that much on a donor...he's trying to go cheap in that respect. Keep you eye out for me and let me know what you find. BTW, he's in NC. Thanks.

No problem Hogmender...i'll keep an eye open.

A buddy of mine just sold an 85GT for $1700 not a month ago, and it was actually in pretty good shape.

Does he want an EFI 5.0, or is carburated OK too?
