Some where in the Democratic Party someone is asking Ronnie why could you not have waited until December. I am just waiting for Teddy Kennedy to tell us how great Mr. Regan was. They villified him in life, and want to jump on his legacy in death.

Oh, but you know they have to. Their political careers would come to a screeching halt if they were to say anything bad about the Reagan now, regardless of their true feelings. I'll bet dollars to donuts that regardless of his partisan feelings, if Kerry wants ANY shot at getting to the White House, he'll be singing the praises of Reagan at the funeral alongside everyone else. For him, and also for the likes of Hillary, Reagan's funeral is an engagement they had better not miss......

Ted Kennedy and all of the other liberals are all on the bandwagon of Reagan's legacy. You watch how many conservatives do the same when Bill Clinton reaches the end of his journey (NONE). A great man will always be remebered as a great man. Ronald Reagan's legacy is prof that you can believe in America, stand fast for America, and be tough when American ideals are threatened and still be loved and respceted by the world. Teddy Roosevelt used to coin the phrase "speak softly and carry a big stick" well Reagan always had a smile on his face, a kind word, and a US Navy Carrier batttle group...

I was trying to explain to my children the other day what Reagan meant to America. Now, I'm no stranger to the english language, but after a few minutes I lapsed into silence.

They have no memory of the post-vietnam era, no understanding of the feeling of Malaise in this nation in Carter's "Era of Limits". No memory of gas lines, 20% interest, and "America-past its prime".

They have grown up in a nation that believes in itself again, a nation of the American Dream as a real thing, and not a joke, a nation where ideals DO mean something, a nation whose enemies are little people we can pursue, not a monolithic monster that can destroy us with nuclear-tipped missiles.

Thank you, Mr. Reagan, for what you did for my children.
