I have a question for you folks who Wear or Work boots everyday.
I ask this question because since I was 11 I always wore work boots because living in the country working on a Farm tennis shoes just didnt work.
Then 11yrs in the service wearing boots,then 10 yrs working at a plant wearing boots, tennis shoes just never felt good.

I've worn either Red Wing or Wolverines as long as I can remember. Red wings dont fit or feel like the Wolverines do, their alot more comfortable .

My problem is the last several years I found Wolverines with side zippers that were Dura Shocks all leather.
Then my leg started Buckling due to the Progression of the "SHIT" and then my ankle on my right started buckling so Tennis shoes are out.

Couldnt wear my old side zip Wolverines anymore since the brace wont go in and they stopped making them.

I found a pair of "BATES" (Wolverines) Enforcer series boots I'm wearing now ,THeir great, I can get my foot with the brace on with a little "Help" from CJ. The next size bigger is too big and they dont come in half sizes. The side zipper is a MUST HAVE then.

I'm wondering do they still make the "Gusset zipper" you can put into your boots?
I'm thinking If that was the case I could get the Half size boot and wouldnt need the side zipper if I could get my brace in.They come in Half sizes without the side zipper but cant fit the brace in with my foot. I'm think with the "Gusset Zipper" theyd work.

Do they still make them? And do any of you wear a boot thats better you think?

Tennis shoes are out----------- plus the short boot exposes the joint so it has to be a 8" or 9" boot.

Im currently pimping some Magnums. i bought these a little over 5 years ago for $80 for a security job that never came about, i kept these in a box til one day i found them and started wearing in the winters only. the problem with them is that there are no vents in them, so after a few hours, my feet sweat and start to stink really bad.

when they get wet, they also turn my socks blue. ive been spraying fabreeze in them to keep them smelling good in the mornings

That's the one that laces in, with the existing lace holes, and you just zip it up? They still make them. The usual suspects, US Cav and BQ should have them. I'm pretty sure my suppliers have them. If you can't find them, let me know and I'll add them to the next order. They're not expensive. That may not be for a few weeks, though, unless I sell some inventory. <img src=newicons/Whatever_anim.gif border=0 align=middle>

My duty boots are discount sneaker-pattern safety shoes. I like the steel toes for field work. I bought them after I dropped a manhole cover on my toe. <img src=newicons/anim_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>

Around the house, I like plain old ranch wellingtons.

I really like Chukkahs, but haven't seen a pair that suited me in some time. The last nice pair, I had custom made in London. (Sounds expensive but it wasn't that bad)

Our sirplane drivers in Alaska wore Mucklucks, as the Mickey Mouse boots didn't fit on the pedals. They were good boots as long as you could keep them dry and had planty of liners to swap out. I preferred the Mickeys for cold weather work, but you still needed a rucksack full of spare socks, or your feet would rot off. (Lord, they would sure smell like it!)

I used to always wear Panama Jungle boots for manly man type stuff(as long as it wasnt too cold, lol).

They are the most comfortable boots i've ever worn.

Thanks Guys, Those lace in Zippers are what I was looking for.

Now those Enforcers are light but I did see those converse boots on some site too, I read some good reviews on those.
I dont need Steel toes anymore,but I like the Steel Shank plate on the sole of the boot.

Snipe they make a "Brand New Jungle boot" looks like the old ones but have more support and more cushion.

I hated Chukkah boots, I need the taller boot the 8" and when they came out with the new "Steel Toe Combat boot" I got the Squadron to pay for them, Now that was a Boot!
The Jungle Boots in the Box were great except the sand filling them up I actually walked so much on the ramp I wore the damn soles flat!
that took 6 months.
Mickey Mouse boots &Mucklucks,I wore booth at ScottAFB the Mickey Mouse boots were great for DE-ICING the Muck's just got soggy but if not doing that Mucks were SO DAMN CONFORTABLE!
Kept your feet warm and I still have 2 Brand new pairs in my folks basement.
Their probably moth food now.

Altama has made a whole business out of Jungle boots. They have quite a range, from economy boots to MilSpec boots with the Panama soles to "improved" boots with a variety of soles, including Vibram; with and without drain holes. I think they come in the traditional green-black two tone as well as all black and desert tan. They probably have an ADC one, by now.

They seem to be pretty good. I like jungle boots for warm weather hikers.

At Sill we were the only Bn who were authorized to wear Jungle boots in OD green, so of course, a lot of us did.

It was easy to pick out a Polar Bear at the Sill PX back then.
