Just finished my first resume, thought it might work to come here for some critique and such.

Ignore the objective line, I've called my contact back to get some more info on the actual job so that I can improve that. The local power company is putting together a simulation of the power grid, and the position has to do with labelling stuff on it, or something. Once I know more about that, I'll be redoing it.

In the meantime I need to know if there's anything wrong with this one, and I thought the board would be a good place to ask.

And here's the file:

Nevermind, i got it.
The only things I can think of are:
1- Get a different e-mail address for the resume, something mor eliek first.last@yahoo.com or somethign along those lines. I've heard employers are turend off by screennames such as beerdrinker2001 or surferdude, things not \"profesional\"
2- Maybe you should relace the part where you describe your job in the AF with the job description part on an EPR. The EPR makes even the dumbest person sound like a god in charge of the entire flightline

I do get a download option, wasn't quite sure how to attach it or anything, so I used my briefcase account. If someone knows a better way to do it, I'm all ears.

E-mail changed, I was looking at that anyway. As for the EPRs, I totally forgot all that crap was in there. One of the templates I was looking at was designed more for military people without any \"outside\" work experience. Perhaps I should look more at it.

It was my fault on the downloading. I changed the way firefox downloads, now instead of a downloading window it just shows a little status bar on the bottom of the browser and goes directly to the desktop. But with small files it goes so fast I don't even see it and forget about it.

Gifted, are you currently active duty? If so have you gone through the TAPS class offered on base. I think it's through the family support center, they will also review your resume for you. Sorry I can't be of more help but I can't access the file with the link you provided.

I cant get it , how did you guys see it?
But since I cant see it I'll just review what I did on mine.
I broke all my schooling down, I dont have a Degree,my jobs in the USAF,
I was a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC with experience on 5 different types
told them what I did and what I was trained in.
Than other Titles and worked performed, such as \"Asst Flt Chief, Shift Super, Expediter.
Told them \"Oversaw work and scheduling of over $800 million iin Aircraft and Equipment, Supervised 50 workers performance and Duties , managed worker scheduling .

Cover your career in the service,Medals, achievements rank.

It all fit on one page,I have a copy somewhere it was the one and only one I ever did but it was Good enough to get me within 3 months (after I took some Shitty jobs) and figured out how you get your resume to the right people and landed a Job at the Highest paying plant within 40 miles of my house and one of the top 10 employers in the State at the time, then I got phone calls for ,Ford to be in their maintance program,a Federal Job offer,2 IL State Job offers, and 3 other Plants that were according to everyone \"Hard to get\".
Not including the \"Supervisor Jobs in Chicago but,I had to learn spanish.

So They were either \"Impressed, felt sorry for me, hired me because I was a Veteran, past the entrance tests (Fords maintance programs test was a Breeze\") or I had a skill they needed.

So I ended-up making pharmaceuticals wearing a \"Sterile suit with Hood and mask\"for 8-12 hours a day, 13 on 1 off days most of the time working with sweat in my goggles ,trying to make repairs with gloves on in a bulky suit.
Just like the USAF ,but not NBC reasons .

So if I can get a Job like that, anyone of you can

Took it by the LDS employment center nearby, went over it with them. I got plenty of help from them-when I finish these revisions, I think I'll e-mail it, since people are having trouble with the download thing. Just put your addy in here if you're interested in helping me out, I'll paste them in when I send it.

I can't DL the resume, either.

Good point. I opened a Mailshell account some years ago. It's a goodspam trap. I own the domain name, so I can use anything@mydomain.net For professional stuff, I use Civilengineer.
