Since I'll be spending the hottest friggin' day of the summer tomorrow moving little miss M-11 back down to school for her last semester, wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday, (a day early) Dice! And a hope for many more.

Thanks everyone, another year older and no more the wiser. [lol] Got me a new turn-table (yes they still make them), a reel-to-reel my daughter found at a flee-market (which is in great shape). and tickets to Poison/Ratt this weekend, I'm a happy camper. :D

Sorry to say no Boomer, it's a Sony but, like I said before it's in great shape and everything works on it down to the output meters.

Nothin wrong with the older Sony stuff, the newer Sony gear is kinda marginal as they outsource most stuff to Indonisia and other third'er world markets ( sound familiar ? lol )
What was the other brand besides Teac that was held in high regard back then? Cant remember the name :?

Well the concert was KICKASS! Perfect weather for an outdoor show, great seats, and the beer was ice cold with short lines. I was a little disappointed with Ratt because they didn’t give me as good of a show as I would have like. They sounded good but, they basically played “album cuts” and not extended versions of their songs like I’m use to in a live act. The spandex, fishnet, and bandanna were gone and they just didn’t look like the Ratt I knew and loved in the 80s. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed them and even did a little “head-banging” during round and round and wanted man but, was hoping for a bit more from them. Hey, maybe they were not supposed to be “too good” so Poison looked better…who knows?

Now Poison was another story….they kicked it big time. One of the best live acts I’ve seen in a long time. Maybe it was the sold-out audience, maybe it was because they were filming the show so parts could be used in Bret Michael’s MTV show “Rock of Love”, or maybe they were just “on” I don‘t know but they ROCKED!

Michaels voice was outstanding, C. C. DeVille ripped the solos, and the rest of the band was right on. I got my monies worth and would pay to see them again if they ever come back.

Racegirl, sorry no pictures because we had “technical difficulties” with our camera. I saw a couple of friends at the show and I’m working with them to get some shots if I can. Girl if Poison ever comes near you (no jokes please) pay the money to see them, you will not be disappointed.

BTW here’s a shot of me, Missy, and her best friend Corny leaving for the show.

Not every daughter (i think the left one on the picture?) can say: \"I go to a rockconcert with mine cool headbangdad\".
You looks a little bit like your favourite Alice Cooper on that picture.

But, I have to admit that you're looking more and more like Snoopy's desert brother, Spike: http://home.att.net/~its.spike/spike/history.htm
