A friend and fellow AF ORF, posted this on a Woodworkers site.

http://www.woodworking.org/InfoExchange ... 257#160257

Basicly says that the card style keys that most hotels are using these days contain:
Your Name
Home Address
Credit Card Number and date
Home Phone

Once turned into the desk they may sit in a drawer with your personal info on them for days before it's re-issued and over written. Anyone with access to the office will have access to them.

If you are issued a card key, keep it, distroy it, but don't turn it in. If you must turn it in, rub the strip with a powerful magnet until it no longer opens the door.

DON'T LET THE BASTARDS HAVE A CHANCE TO RIP YOU OFF!

Guys, this one falls under the \"Urban Legend\" category and it's been around for a while.

DOUGHT!

Sorry folks, my bad. I should have thought to check it out on snoops myself. Just ignore the befuddled old man.
