The VA don't need a copy of your DD214 they can get it off their data base already because they have access to your records.

Yes a copy of your DD 214 unless the rules have been changed gets sent to the Court House in the County of your \"Home of Record\" most people its where you enlisted at.
If you aren't living there you have to take a copy of it to the \"Clerk of Records\" and have it Certified and filed.
This is for 2 things
1. Records the Veteran Population in a County for Cenus Reports plus the Counties get $$$$ based on that number to assist Veterans living there
2. Theres a New benefit that alot of States have signed on to its the
\"Returning Veterans Property Tax Break\" along that line.
Here in Illinois if you served in OIF or Afganny land or another Combat operation your entitled to a 5 year tax break on your property.
Then the Disabled Veterans Property Tax break. if your 50% to 74% service connected you get $2500 break if your 75% to 100% you get $5000 break as long as your home is valued under $250,000.

Plus Fender, all you need to show them as proof of Service is your Discharge Orders and ID card.
Thats enough to prove that
!. Your were in and Honorably Discharged
2. That you have retired from the Service.

Its just like applying for Unemployment after you get out, I didn't have my DD214 yet because I was on 100 days of terminal leave, they just used my orders.

They only use the DD 214 for your Discharge Code.

Thanks for the info Goose. BTW, I scored real good on the Work Keys and I am expecting a phone call tomorrow or Friday.

I found out today that one of my former squadron mates has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. He actually found out about a year ago but kept it quiet. The V.A. turned him down for SC because it wasn't diagnosed while he was on active duty.

Turns out he had been getting treated for the symptoms for a long time just never diagnosed. He got a civilian doctor to write him a \"nice\" letter to the V.A. He has since been contacted by the V.A. to come in for another C&P exam.

Fender,

If you talk to talk to your Friend , tell him to call the PVA for help.

Great News Bro,
you didn't have to do the \"Washer, Rubber Grommet, and metal Cap on the Stub test did you? they give you a board with \"100\" Studs on it and you are timed on how long it takes you to do it put them in order?

Or the \"Put 100 screws (like 2 threads on them) in another board in under 5 mins?) That was a Breeze, I guess the leading edges being R&R'ed all the time is worth something [lol] .

Congrats fender!

I've got 2 nibbles and a bite so far. Currently looking at 3 jobs.

Troy, MI - Contract Windows Server Admin; would allow me to stay where I'm at or move closer to the city. Applied yesterday after the recruiter called me.

Mankato, MN - Local ISP Help Desk Agent; Not too far from Minn/St. Paul or the SPAM museum in Austin, MN. Had first phone interview on Monday.

Spokane, WA - Contract Network Admin; The pilots (or any aircrew that went to Fairchild for \"training\") will remember who I would be working for there. Waiting on word from the recruiter regarding pending job start date.

LMAO. Goose, I will be in the tubes department, not sharps. So any over long or square needles are not my fault.

Went in today for a physical and hearing test. No problems so far. Everyone was real nice, like overly nice. I am beginning to wonder if I am being prepared for the slaughter?

Weasel, way to go man. I am pulling for you to get the one you want the most!!

Hey,

Their always nice , because they NEED YOU , plus the work your going to do if you are a \"Slacker\" or\"Just don't care\" kind of person you could get some one Killed by the \"Tubes\" not being prepared right thus giving \"False\" readings on a blood test that could of shown something that was \"Life Threatening .\"

Like I said on the Phone Bro, everything thats being made is going to end-up in someone or with someones Blood in it or medications .
Its serious work if you think about it.
I know what I was doing everyday that if I screwed-up, I could actually Kill someone just with a \"Minor event\" if it wasn't caught in by QA.

Have a Good Time, but just like \"Hanging MK-82's\" Just one mistake is all you need.

You'll do Great! Just wait until you get your \"CGMP and FDA regulation briefings and sign your LIFE AWAY. :D

Well I started the job last night. First impression is the job is fast paced and does require lots of paperwork.

No motion sickness Goose, although those machines do run very fast. Three Tullip lines on my side are expected to run 540,000 tubes in an 8 hours shift. No I didn't make a mistake, over half a million tubes in one 8 hour shift.

It's no wonder this company likes old aircraft mechanics. Pneumatics, hydraulics, gear assemblies, guages, all kinds of conveyors and scales, I mean it takes a well rounded mechanics mentality to do this job.

I've been \"AWOL\" Fender,

I bet you have a TON of Paperwork Bro!, Just one of my normal \"Nights\" working as a \"ASO/FILLER\" we would run 4 LOT's of Plasma and each lot would have a 15 page run sheet, not including the Primary Manufacturing sheets before we got the LOT, then you had to sign in all your \"Sterile\" tools, parts, Lot numbers of the Glass, stoppers, caps, make sure all the Autoclave cycles were good, do a \"Fill cleaning between lots\" wipe down all the surfaces, make sure no product came in contact with another lot, Nitrogen connections had to be \"Sterile\" check PSI and filter numbers, then do a \"Sterile connection\" with the Tank and do an \"Op's Ck\" of the filling will the first 4 runs of 8 bottles, check weight cells and record them, while doing this you had to maintain yourself as \"Sterile\" dressed like a Chemical warfare training and take \"Sterile Samples\" of your grown in 8 places plus our hands.
You were only allowed \"2 CFU's\" after plating the 3 people in the room plus the machines. A CFU is \"Colony Forming Unit\"

If you had a Good \"Team of Fillers\" I could turn around a lot in around 35 mins (at my PRIME) with the fillers help doing the \"Paperwork and Plates\" if they were a group of \"$%$$%$%###$@#@\" ASSES\" it would take 70mins .

BUT the DAMN PAPERWORK was the Worse part. If I had a \"Weight cell\" go out or not read in limits, I would check the cups and set-up, then the switch, if they were good, I'd calibrate the cell using the \"card\" in the Steel box, which had a tiny screw, if that didn't work, I would have to \"Swap out the Card\" usually with another one to see if that was the problem. If it was still happening then I had to call Maint. dept and Baby sit them but at the same time \"GETTING YELLED AT BY PRODUCTION SUPERVISION\" wanting to know \"WHAT THE F-------- IS THE HOLD-UP?\"

Kind of like the USAF. :D

I told you thats why they like \"Old Crewdawgs\" not many others are willing to do that kind of \"JACK OF ALL TRADES\" stuff under the \"Clock\"

I have seen a type of the machine your running at a sister plant, TOO DAMN FAST FOR ME [puke] I got monition sickness every time I stood and watched.

I'm Happy for!!!!!!!!!!!

Goose
