Do they still have extra duties for those living in barracks or dormitories such as CQ,CQ Runner and barracks or dorm chiefs ?

They have dorm chiefs, but no regular CQ. When I was at Eielson for a while the AMXS dorms were dry b/c people kept fucking up, and they made us do dorm daddy/CQ on the weekends for a few months, but that was it.

I hated doing CQ back in the day. When I was a Myrtle Beach and had to pull CQ all they were worried about was us running the dorm's snack bar over the weekend. Fricking hated it!

I never had to pull CQ duty only did \"Dorm Rat\" at Yokota (cleaning) 1 week and never again.
MAC always took the \"Trouble makers or Extra Duty Guys\" and used them.
But we did have \"Beer Machines\" in the barracks too. So there was never a \"Shortage of People to pick from\"

Gawd I hated CQ!

1989 I sewed on Buck Sgt (E-4) and for the first time in three years I didn't go home on leave for the Christmas holidays. I was living in base housing (married) and since I was sticking around...badabing! I was put on Christmas CQ for the Crew Chief dorms. 12 hour shifts all weekend sitting on my butt in the dorm's day room office. 80% of the dorm rats went home for the holidays so this was really sucky. It was so quiet. Had to call my wife to wish her a merry Christmas...and she was only about 1/4 of a mile away in our warm cozy house on base. At least there was a pool table and big screen TV/VCR to pass my alone time...lol.

Most of my duties were with the dorm snack bar and I was supposed to walk a lap around the three dorm buildings every hour or so...(yeah right). Also had to answer the phone, but most of the calls were for guys who weren't there anyway.
