 Post subject: 70 years Pearl Harbor

Next wednesday, 7th december, is it 70 years ago that Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. It was the sign for the US to declare war to Japan and Nazi Germany.

Remember Pearl Harbor, remember the fallen.

My legacy goes back to my Grandfather who was a Crew Chief in the Army Air Corp...and received a Purple Heart for shrapnel in his bum during the attack on Pearl Harbor. He ended up retiring from the Army after Korea around 1960 and passed away in the early 1980s...never talking to us about that day.

My wife's granddad was deployed to Pearl after the attack to cleanup, one of the worst experiences of his life, he rarely talked about anything beyond that description.
