Civvy guy looking to buy a genuine issue nomex jacket.
Can someone tell me the weight and warmth difference between the -45 and -36. Which would you normally wear in Europe?

It depends how long you intend spend exposed to the elements, weather conditions.....and above all not haveing to walk home!

. With Europe, their is so many differnt climates and topography within short distance from point of origin. that it is primarily based on the mission and activities of the mission that will determine Aircrew Survival needs. A good day can go bad in seconds over there. Over water operations. even a weather brief is at times what has taken place in the last 15 min.. always best to be prepared, at the sake of comfort.

So would you wear the -36 or the -45 for everyday use?

I wear the summer weight jacket to fly with. The winter weight is too bulky and too warm to be comfortable in. I would only wear the winter weight if it got exceedingly cold and that doesn't happen too often in Germany.
