Part of an email I recived yesterday from a friend on the front lines with the Hogs...

Joe,
No we have not received anything (package) yet. Mail is very slow right now. I have been waiting on a package from home for at least 2 to 3 weeks. I will continue to look for it and let you know once it arrives. Once I get the package I will ask you for the trivia questions for the paper.

I really appreciate the packages. I will be sure that everyone here knows where they are coming from. It is great to be able to open a package and pass out the contents to folks.

You would be impressed with the numbers from the first days of the war. Our venerable A-10 is flying like there is no tomorrow. The troops are doing an outstanding job keeping them in commission. We have not lost a sortie yet to maintenance and we are flying at about 3 times or better the normal rate for an A-10 Guard unit.

Once we are home I will share some of the sortie counts and hours per day. Not sure if I should be sending it out from here at this time. You would be impressed.

Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts. I will be in touch when the package arrives.

Both the old maintainers and the youngs ones are making us proud again...dame I love being part of the A-10 community!!

Ugly but well hung!

I/we are highly impressed with the professionalism and dedication that the troops- all of them- are displaying over there.

I cannot help but feel that once the Iraqi leadership is felled, it will all come apart like a house of cards.

It looks like it is going to take a while, but our guys are fighting a good fight, and it is starkly clear just who the good-guys are.

Good luck guys.

Onward to Baghdad!!!

US 7th cavalry reported to be engaged in a 'massive battle'.

As many as 300-500 Iraqi dismounts reported killed.

Very early reports, so it's probably not all that accurate.

Onward to Baghdad!!!

God bless the Cav.
After reading Into the Storm I have an even greater respect for them.

Damn straight, this airframe should last like the C-130 and the B-52. Excellent job! IMHO.

Anyone hear how the M1-A2 is performing?
I've tried to find reports over the web but haven't found anything...yet.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst

Can't tell you how I know, but give it a few days Sniper. And then after it happens, I'll tell you how I know. (Not a huge secret, but I don't think it should be posted on the web anywhere, either.)
