Good to see some Pennsylvania Hogs prepping to go get some!

Those are some great pictures. For those who have never seen one before, that's a SUU-25 flare dispensing pod (labeled E194) in the first picture. That B model Maverick sure has an interesting paint job...looks like it has mold growing on it!

I flew tail 80-152 on a sortie or two before she went over. Wish I had been able to go over with her!

I think the gray paint may have been "sand blasted" off to show the green primer.

why the flare pod? Illumination flares? Could they take up a pod if the on board dispensers wernt working? would that be allowed?

Just a civillian here, but is it not a sad commentary that all the pointy nose jets in these picture need to be in the shade, while the hogs bake and keep on functioning.

Probably more the case of the wingspan of the A-10 was too wide to fit in the "carports".

Yeah, in most cases LUU-2 illumination flares. The integral flare dispensers are for self-protection, and don't provide light for an extended period over the battlefield like a LUU does. The SUU-25 is not used in self defense...at least not normally!

The planes in the Ports are USN/USMC F-18 Hornets.

You'll notice that there is one hog that managed to get a parking spot in the shade.... obviously it snuck in there when the F-18 was off stretching its (short)legs

1. Don't look conspicuous; it draws fire.
2. Never draw fire; it irritates everyone around you.

I don't know, cause I haven't been the to Jab in a long long time..but when I was there, the F18s were Kuwaits...As a matter of fact, if I remember correctly, they didn't even want us taking pictures...who knows...Also...the A10 that is "undercover" from friends that have been to the Jab...the build some of these for the A10s too...

Brought to you by your friendly neighborhood moderator...

I don't know about using them for anything, but I sure do appreciate them! I've added them to my collection of PA Hog pictures.

Send thanks to your man for us, both for the pictures and his service to our country and keeping our Hogs flying!

I am pretty sure that youur're right about the F18s. They are allowed to take pics I guess. All of that is declass. So its cool.

Yeah, those are Kuwaiti, you can see the two-toned gray cammo scheme they use.

Yes, those are Kuwaiti F-18s in the sunshades in the background. We have many, many, many USMC F-18s, AV-8Bs and British Harriers here, but they're parked on a different area of the airfield. In the background, you see the A-10 under a sunshade. There're actually a dozen of those sunshades sized for A-10. There's no way an A-10 would fit in an F-18 sunshade. And those Kuwaiti F-18s parked in the background (there're actually two rows of them) make up about 75% of the Kuwaiti Air Force fighters!
