hey guys, when I first got my all white Taurus it had a number of scratches and gouges in the sheetmetal, but I fixxed them all up perfect (even all these years later even I cant find them !). But I got a new deep door scratch a few weeks ago. It's all fixxed and painted now , But I cant for the life of me rememeber how long I have to wait to hit it with the rubbing compound !! Any advice would be helpfull (the product says nothing on the bottle). The paint is Dupli-Color and the rubbing compound is 3M fine cut. Hmmm.... I think I need to wet sand it first too IIRC.

Sorry i can't help- got a couple of rust spots(very small) and scratches I want to get out too.

I have a Taurus also; I like it(I don't care what you say Sniper)- bad torque, good hp, 3.8l engine;
Decent for the terrain I live in.

If the paint doesn't exhibit 'orange peel', don't cut it at all.

If it does, wait at least 2 weeks.

no peel at all , it's perfect. I'll wait 2 weeks just to be safe, thanks.

Mine has the 3.0 no extra smoggie stuff at all, and accels better than anyone would think!! Handles well also(better than it accels anyway hee hee) stops straight as a string on ice snow sleet whatever with NO ABS system. Only had it loose 1 time (by accident anyway ) 85+ on an off ramp just isnt the way to go LOL

Did you hear about the new Jewish Cadillac? Stops on a dime and picks it up...
