Hey all...
I'm not a fake hogdriver or anything like that, fact is I don't drive anything that flys,I got here while surfing for the A-10, I was at the pumpkinfest parade here in town and four A10s did a fly over and I must say my heart swelled with pride knowing that those planes and pilots are here to protect us, and to kick iraqi tail.
I am a security officer at Holland Community Hospital and one of the guys I work with was in the initial push to Bagdahd and he told me stories of A-10s giving everything they had to protect the troops on the ground,he said the best sound in the world is BBBRRRRRRRRRRRRP!!!!
because you know everythings ok as long as the hogs are around.
I'm gonna cut this short and get to the point.
On behalf of my wife and four year old daughter and all the folks here in Zeeland Michigan,Thank you all for what you do,for all the sacrifices you make and the dangers you face, you are heros, every single one of you,and thanks for flying the meanest ground attack aircraft the world has ever known.

First and foremost, thanks for taking the time to say these kind words. A little gratitude goes a long way... And don't let these kid ya, we all know you meant each and every person who has anything to do with getting this fine aircraft into the air and completing its mission. I saw my first A-10 at my first assignment over 22 years ago, and they still make me smile when I see one. It is an awesome airplane and is flown and maintained by some of the greatest heroes on this planet, even the on here!

Unfortuantely Goose I am no longer a Hogkeeper. I've been at Keesler going to Tech School to be a Comm Weeny!

I'm even getting stationed in Washington State not too far from Horrido.

Now that is funny. Ever notice all the Finance and MPF (CBPO) weenies have all the latest cold weather gear every year? They work in an office and still get better gear than the guys working the line. Its time to retire.

My Wife was real good with dealing with the finance Weenies. Let the dependents do the bitchen...works everytime...

"Mudd, payroll called, apparently your wife threatened to cut the balls off another finance weenie." This has got to stop. Sorry boss my head belongs in the cockpit, not worrying about my mortgage. Yeah your right, let me call that asshole back and tell him i'll personally bring your wife up to their shop.

I had a check cut that day. No more drama.

IF they had just gotten back from a deployment I could understand that, but when they say "sure its all taken care of" and it's not, thats a different story.

When I say Comm Weeny, I mean a Comm weeny. Help desk inside the NCC resetting passwords and the such. I've been told I'll be the phone bizatch for a while. I'll be the SSgt asking the AB how things work!

And today is the last day of class for me! Another road trip back to DM! Fun Fun!

Yeah fender what is up with that ? Youre right our base is the same way. They walk around with all the nice extreme cold weather gear. Damn must be the same everywhere. And they get pissed off at me because crew chiefs take all the good trips. Hell we take all the trips ! Makes me wanna scream sometimes.

30MM Jr found it the same with his Guard unit, too. They also pitch a fit when they DO go TDY and the CC's all take the bunks (KC-135) on the long over-water trips. They seem to forget the CC's have to work as soon as the bird hits the pavement.

What really pissed me off is when you go to one of the offices like finance after busting your ass all night and the give you a hard time about the condition of your uniform.

Two things to remember when dealing with any office at MPF,formely CBPO. First always remember or write down who you talk to and on what day. This is very important when something that was promised to get done doesnt get done. Second, if you are not getting the support you need from them be polite and ask for the next level of supervision. If all else fails go get your supervisor, flight chief or shirt to go with you. Having a SNCO on you side when you go normally works to your advantage.
