Hey guys I have programmer I use in sri lanka he is ok but that tidal wave wiped out a large part of the island. 4000 dead already and a million with out homes. If any one is interested in donating to the releif here is one site http://www.shakthifm.com/ I will be looking for more. He IMed me today and said they are waiting for more waves.

Makes you kinda not want to bitch about knowing a hurrincane is comming 3 weeks in advance. The news said this wave was 100ft tall traveling about 500 mph ouch and struck with no warning.

Those giant tidal waves or Tsunamis are a terrible thing!

I heard that there were already several between Australia and Antarctica prior to this large one, but since nobody was injured by those they haven't really made headlines. I hope these people find some peace soon... that's a terrible thing to live through.

The current number of 25,000. I have a collegue from another board who's currently in thailand, He's say there are parts of the countries involved that they haven't been able to reach anyone in yet. The final death toll could reach into the hundred thousands.

well it sounds like the berlin airlift will be surpassed by the aid going out on this disaster. Notice everyone is looking for the big bad US military now.

God bless those who are tasked with moving this aid. Not only is it morally right todo, but I see it as a real opportunity to show the world we are not the enemy.

The death toll just doubled. Indonesia is reporting an additional 27,000 lost which brings the toll to 52,000. I haven't seen anything like this and quite frankly don't wish to again.
