Your only other realistic option in 1/48 is to find the Tamiya kit which was either recently re-released or still has quite a few examples available out there. I've been looking for reviews on it, but haven't found any as of yet. It's as good if not better than the Monogram release, but both have their advantages and disadvantages, and keep in mind it may not be updated and an example of an early-1980's A-10. I wouldn't shy away from it if you can find it, however.
