Hey, sorry it took me song to post. I'm on leave now in NY, so I was running around yesterday, doing laundry, stopping the email, then a nice long plane ride..... all that kind of crap. Wednesday night on my way into work it was 2.519. When I was on my way out the gate Thursday morning I had to fill up and it was 2.619 per gallon.

I was talking with a friend at work about it Wednesday night once I got in (I don't pass the gas station on my way on base, just off base) and he said how everyone was freaking out since Tuesday night, sure it going to pass $3 in a matter of hours. It went up 10 cents. That's it.

So 2.619 for regular gas on base at Eielson is the final answer. I passed the gas station in North Pole on my way to the airport and it was 2.719 per gallon.

Here in NY.....woah. Nothing is less than $3. Most regular gas is about 3.30 per gallon. The highest I've seen it (there are about 50 gas stations within a 10 mile radius where I'm originally from on Long Island) is 3.799 for 87 octane.


They say that the only two things certain in life are death and taxes. I prefer them in that order.

Doesn't look like gas is cheaper than 3.00 anywhere. Even better is my own fuel -coffee- was for the most part, imported through ports in Louisiana, which are now effectively shutdown.
