Everytime I see one of these stories I wonder people dont ask for some credential before acting.

McKINNEY, Texas -- A woman on trial for allegedly cutting off her infant's arms had "layer upon layer of" insanity and psychosis, a Texas state psychiatrist said.

Dr. David Self told a jury Monday that Dena Schlosser felt God was commanding her to cut off the girl's arms as well as her own arms, legs and head.

The mental expert evaluated Schlosser in the months after her November 2004 arrest.

Police responding to a 911 call found her covered in blood, still holding a knife and listening to a church hymn. She had cut her own shoulder.

Her trial is in its sixth day.

Schlosser has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.

Prosecutors said she knew what she was doing and should be sent to prison for life.

I say, give her what she was hoping for. Have her drawn and quartered by 4 A-10's<img src=newicons/icon_hog.gif border=0 align=middle>, then take her head off with a 30mm round.

But I mean that in the most loving and supportive way.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

As you all know, I am a person of faith. However, we often "feel" like God is speaking to us. I believe He does, however, His ultimate word to us is in the Bible. Whenever I feel called to do something, I always compare it to His word. If there's a contradiction then it is definitely NOT from God. The problem with many folks is that they act off of feelings...and in my experience my feelings are very often wrong and were influenced by something or someone other than God.

Bottom line: If God tells you to kill your children, have an affair, steal from your employer, etc., it is in direct contradiction to His word and is not from Him.

So, consider the religion can of worms officially opened. Not my intent at all, just stating my belief...

Very true, Warthog30. God has never and will never change. Nor will he contradict himself. Too many people try to hide behind the religion mask. And, truth be told, "religion" can get you right where this lady was.... in trouble. Religion is a manmade thing, therefore has the imperfect qualities of man. That's my can o' worms for today.....
