A show that made up part of my towns 250th anniversary was held on Saturday & Sunday. From Firday night until Sunday Afternoon I was all over this event, and I've got exactly seventy pictures, and wrung out the memory card on my digital camera to get a two second video of a Sea Bee re-enactor driving a restored bulldozer by.

Pics & video will be up as soon as it's possible to upload, host, and resize some of them.

First up is the short bulldozer video. (Aprox. run time: 2 seconds)

One of the highlights of this weekened was when I first overheard one of the National Guards pulling recruit duty say he was worried their tent would be pulled down by peaceniks overnight.

Fast forward to the end of the show, I was stalking the bulldozer to get this vid. And got the idea to walk ahead of it to the National Guard tent, and at no small risk to my self tell the lot of them "good news! Your tent is coming down after all!" Then looked over my shoulder at the approaching Bulldozer being driven by a Squid re-enactor. <img src=newicons/saevil.gif border=0 align=middle>

One of the usmwhi women, in the group of four near the top saw that shirt, and thought I WAS a dirty tree huggin' hippy until she bothered to read the words & not just look at the peace sign they mock.

Plus those female re-enactors and advocates of women in uniform were the first people to hand me money in exchange for three of my pictures.

P.s. you didn't overlook the last National Guard photo before the last two pics/self portraits did you? Why post pics of Women in Uniform when you can take them yourself?! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Great pics and thanks for sharing. Looks like you had a great time. Only suggestion would be to get a bigger strobe for the night shots. Or you could go with a second small strobe on a slave unit mounted off to the side. You can get some really great effects that way.

What you see is what you get with the digital camera.

The flash on my Pentax K1000 will work a hell of a lot better, when I get one. The pics might even be better...despite having to switch between color and black & white film with a little more difficulty than with the digi cam.
