<img src="http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c348/kaaooga3/belt.jpg" border=0>

This belt WAS brand new. IT had less than 40 miles on it. 8 miles down a trail on Saturday, it disintegrated. I bring it back to the Stealer I had change it. They said OK, that's not normal, we'll take a look [on Monday] at it, and if there's goign to be any charge, we'll call you. I get a call this afternoon saying OK come pick it up. So I go there and they're liek that'll be 180 bucks. I'm like woah, this was not normal, this was not my fault, yadda yadda yadda. They sayd well, it looks like its been abused. I say BS, it's got less than 40 miles on it, either it was a bad belt out of the supply system or you installed it at the improper tension. So they said OK we'll call Kawasaki again and see what they say. If they don't cover it, I'm goign to tell them to remove the belt, give it back to me the same way I gave it to them, and to F!@# off. , I never said install a new one, I'll do it myself instead of paying these theives to rip me off. I ride a 2002 Prairie 650 with 28 inch Outlaws. (Yeah I know the tires put extra wear on the belt, but c'mon)

Is this belt exposed in such a way that a rock or other foreign object could have gottn between it and it's pully or sprocket?

A 45 has a muzzle.
A 9mm has a bullet vent.

Nope, its all covered up. This belt just wore unbelievably fast. I believe it was either a materially defective right off the bat, or the dealer installed it at the wrong tension. There is no way this is due to abuse or normal wear.

I swear I didn't. I do go nuts my my sport quad though, a Suzuki Z400. I went back to the dealer yesterday b/c they still hadn't called me back, I got more runaround, The manager said they called me and I said over the phone to fix the belt. I told them 'thats BS, I would not do that, I would save myself $100 and do it mysef'. So then they come down to OK we'll take $50 off the belt. I say BS. So we (me and the manager) go to the mechanic and the manager says to the mechanic, 'you told me that you spoke to the customer on the phone and he said to fix it' and the mechanic said 'that's what I was told'. The manager said 'told by who' and he said the guy at the counter. This repeated itself like 3 times as if it was a whos on first skit. Finally the manager gets so fed up she says 'you know what forget about the labor, just pay for the belt'. Well I can live with that, so I do, and I will just have to chalk this one up to experience of never to deal with this place again.

Assault is a type of behavior, not a type of rifle.
