No one messes with the Diesel. Quiet on the outside, but angry on the inside....with a short fuze to boot!

I heard my name was being slandered on this sight....Type 7 knows full well not to mess with Diesel, he has the scars to prove it. I think HAS 7 at Al Jaber still has his blood splattered on the wall.
After reading the above commentary, I felt compelled to respond. Luke you are a good pilot, but Type 7 is right. As unfair as it may seem you will be just another new B course graduate. Your prior time may get you out of being the Snacko, but don't forget your new rank is "A-10 Wingman" period. Your respect will now be earned by how well you listen and perform on the wing. As you yourself said, the A-10 community is very small, so be careful. What you probably didn't know is that "Coach" is a Legend in the community....by far the most experienced and respected A-10 pilot flying. Hell, I haven't even met him in person, but just about every Hogdriver knows of him. What guys think of you can make a huge difference, and stories spread like wildfire even from base to base. Take coache's advice, and then when you get to Osan, find the crustiest, old, Major or LtCol and find out what they know. Once you get past the hardass facade, you will find that most of them actually love teaching you the ways of this business.
As for Type 7, what he forgot to mention is that the ranges at DM have moving human targets. He is responsible for rounding up around 50 of them in his 3 year tenure. When he's not killing "gook's in the wire" in Afghanistan, he's busy fighting forest fires and moonlighting as a vigilante border patrol "federal officer".
