I was sitting here today with a few buddies discussing weapons like the Avenger and the M134, and we can't figure out how the firing pin assembly works. I tried to find a decent diagram online, but all I could find were verbal descriptions, which did nothing but confuse me. Is there a place where I could find enlightenment?

Man, Gun bolts used to be my forte'. When I was a young weapons pup at Bentwaters, working in the gunshop, I always volunteered to tear down and rebuild the gun bolts. I wish you could see throuh my minds eye and you would have no problem figuring out how the bolts work. Alas I cannot help you but thanks for a trip down memory lane.
An old T.O. would work fine to help you if you could find one on e-bay or another source.

I tell you this. Ask your questions, be as specific as possible and I will try to help you visualize how the gun bolts(there are 7 of them)function.

I found this page, which has a decent animation showing how the old hand-cranked gatling guns operated. http://people.howstuffworks.com/machine-gun2.htm

Is it anything like that?

I"ve been told a couple of times that the inside of the bolt is actually classified. Some enlightenment?

Gifted I have never heard this one before. I will say they were not classified when I worked on them. Never can tell what has happened since then.
