I think it was Airman's Magazine, I can't remember which it was specifically, but it mentioned a crew chief ending up flying the same plane he had crewed.

We had a crew dawg at MB that went on to fly hogs. I sure wish I hadnt drank so many beers over the years or I might remember his name.

We have had a few of those. Crew chiefs that have become pilots on the jets they crewed.
