Romania 'porn film' judge quits
A Romanian judge has resigned after being accused of starring in a pornographic video, officials said.
Simona Lungu, a judge in the capital, Bucharest, was investigated by judicial authorities over allegations she acted in an adult video sold in Denmark.
She originally denied it, but forensic experts concluded it was her.
She contested the findings, but the Superior Council of Magistrates in Romania has refused to clear her name and voted to accept her resignation.
The head of the council, Dan Lupascu, who himself resigned over allegations that he mishandled Ms Lungu's case, has been reinstated, private news agency Mediafax reports.
Ms Lungu, 36, asked the Forensic Institute - a state crime laboratory - to help her clear her name by taking photos of her and comparing them to the video, the Associated Press news agency reports.
But the institute concluded it was her in the video.
"The debates in the case are over," said Justice Minister Cristian Diaconescu after the council's meeting.

This is hardly the type of previous employment that one would expect of a judge.

We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than
the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable
for his actions. (Ronald W. Reagan)
