Let it grow Dice-Man, you only need paint on your face to look like Alice Cooper  If I am correct one of your favourites.
Your love for hardrock (just like me, but not only that music) explains a lot about the music under the Warthog vids from you. Let's Rock. Listen to this www.hardrockin80s.com

And now back to topic?

Yea, I guess my choose of music for my videos does say something about my taste in music.

Dutcy, once a thread has gone \"off topic\" it's hard to get it back on track again.

Dice-Man, if you made a video again. Maybe an idea to use the number \"Last Command\" of the 80's metalband W.A.S.P.: \"Stand up for the first time and shout it, woah-oh!!

I almost gave up on trying to find the A-10's movie moments here, but background music is also an important topic.

I'm still looking for the right tunes to make my A-10 dance to, and I was tending towards:

Battlestar Galactica the 2003 miniseries - Launch vipers (Roam, Loiter and intercept fledgeling terrorist on motorbike)
Starship Troopers - Klendathu Drop (Bombing run)
Total Annihilation - Fire And Ice (Strafing run and narrow esapce)
Total Annihilation - Brutal Battle (Grand finale)

btw I finally attempted to draw the GAU8A for the first time.

I don't understand your problem with the videos, they are all in Windows Media format and should play on realplayer when you click on the links??? :?: :?:

An embedded Windows Media Player window does appear after clicking the link, but after 5 secs of seeing a black screen it switching from \"playing\" to \"stopped\" and nothing will get it going. To be honest, WMV is an extremely annoying format for non windows users, quicktime is much better anyway. I think I can get the videos to play on a school PC though.

Ah, another Warthog movie moment - not quite what I expected.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9w5JLAPSmDA

One of them does perform a looping.

Did anyone notice the other Hawg videos on the sidebar?
I looked at the one posted there and happened upon several shots of 166 in action!
Hmmm....also had a Driver climbing in and a crewdog heading up to strap him in......could this be anyone we know from here?

At least the real hogs are affordable, since they're not an endangered species all I need convert a part of my garden into a mud patch, get a very thick \"How do I take care of a Warthog\" manual and pay a few hundred bucks.

Where can I buy the A-10 version of the Warthog? I read the unit cost is $10M, and quite frankly, that sounds so affordable that I'm surprised multimillionaire aviation fanatics are not cruising low through the countryside with their slow and super maneouvreble and therefore very fun to fly A-10's. Are they restricted for civilians?

No, this project is still classified. There have been rumours of A-10 pilots taking saddles with them to work though, also, several colnels have been seen picking thick brown hairs of their uniforms. The new system is said to include a biological self-regenerating, adpative, learning and semi intelligent control system, as well as a pair of savage close combat weapons.

HogSnort,

Not a bad video, but did you here what the gun sounded like at the 3:11 mark. I've never heard the A-10's gun sound like that.

Well, the engines are definitely A-10s. The gun sounds like when your a kid and making a machine gun sound flapping your lips.

Did I miss something? The video I saw was only 3:11 long?

Yeah the gun sounded pretty sick! Sounds like they dubbed someone firing some sort of automatic weapon where the BRRRRRAAAAAPPPPPP should be!

Although Jacks thought of "flapping lips" might not make that exact noise, it is a funny thought! I guess it would also depend on what lips were flapping! 8)

So......is that our beloved 166 in question as once belonging to Santa Goose.
And is that her present day "Daddy" climbing her laddeer to strap in the driver?

Back to A-10 movies. I'm looking for soundbites of the A-10, the ones on this site at least aren't working and any others I found had such static in them that I could hear the start/stop of a sample far too well. I'm not a good sound effects designer, so I have not a clue how to edit them to for instance reduce static or somehow mask it. What I'm looking for is:

-GAU8 fire (bursts varying between .5 and 4 seconds)
-A-10 unvarying engine sound (So I can make a loop of it and write a script to change sound frequency depending on engine RPM and speed relative to observer (doppler effect)

Missles mechanical grinding, explosions and the like are abundant in the sound file archives of many RTS games so that is no problemo.

One of the forums for LOMAC has some good A-10 sound clips. I'll see if I can find it tonight after work.

Argh. I was hoping somebody had written a piece of music highly suitable to the Warthog. Well, when I found something called \"The Warthog rhapsody\" I thought \"Oh hell yea, a song of mayhem! With lyrics to fit! I could use that.\" Hmm... I stumbled upon the Lion King.

I didn't know there was a Warthog in that movie.

Animation and sound fx are covered so far, but music still ain't. Did anyone you ever heared of write a song of mayhem for the Warthog?

I think he means around the 2:32 mark (the entire video is only 3:11), there is some sound dubbed in that sounds more like machine gun fire than the GAU-8...

Cheers! M2

\"click click BOOM!\" has fitting lyrics. It somewhat fits the A-10. \"Click click BOOM!\" and \"I'm on the radio station touring round the nation, leaving the scene in devastation.\" I used it before but kind of forgot about it. Oh yea, it's a suitable candidate. I'm looking forward to the day in the distant future I have to start looking for voice actors, that's the always the most fun part.

Yeah, I meant the 2:32 mark got times mixed up

WarthogHogger, click click boom is a good upbeat song, but as for relationship to the A-10 I've always enjoyed Kiss' God of Thunder but then again I'm just a old school metal head

Quote:
Youve got something about you
Youve got something I need
Daughter of aphrodite
Hear my words and take heed
I was born on olympus
To my father a son
I was raised by the demons
Trained to reign as the one

God of thunder and rock and roll
The spell youre under
Will slowly rob you of your virgin soul

Im the lord of the wastelands
A modern day man of steel
I gather darkness to please me
And I command you to kneel
Before the

God of thunder and rock and roll
The spell youre under
Will slowly rob you of your virgin soul

I am the lord of the wastelands
A modern day man of steel
I gather darkness to please me
And I command thee to kneel
Before the

God of thunder and rock and roll
The spell youre under
Will slowly rob you of your virgin soul

I've never heared that song, but the lyrics seem just right. Before I try to track the song down, do you pherhaps know where I can at least find a good preview of it?

Dice Man: Did I already tell you that 'Blood Red Sandman' was a really well chosen soundtrack for your movie 'Slitther'?
