Hi guys,
I was going through Don Logan's A-10 Thunderbolt book which I just picked up a few days ago, and under the Bosnia Operations section, there is a little blurb about a 104th FW A-10 78-0626 evading 6 SAM's fired at the plane all in one mission. There is a small picture of markings on the side of the plane. Does anyone else have any more information on this? Thanks.

Brian

You can barely see the artwork of the 6 SAMs, I believe the door art is NOMAD but it might have been taken off since the last time I saw it.

Thanks. I did a few searches and got some pictures, most of the plane now with the Patriots on the engines and also some with \"Spirit of New England\" nose art. I'm trying to find out though more on the actual mission, pilot, and what happened. Seems like a good story that apparently \"wasn't\" told.

LtCol Lawrence was flying it and it wasnt six SAMs in one mission, it was 6 SAMs at the same time. I was there, I remember. That and a buck will get me a cup of tea at the local diner.

Looks like the Hog's reputation had preceded it........the Serbs thought the only way to bring a Hog down was to expend 6 in one pop.
If you saw it in a film you'd never believe it.

No no....I said if you saw something like that in a movie you'd throw it right out, along with Arnie in 'True Lies' showing off in 'his' AV8

LtCol Lawrence was once an A4, F8 jockey. I had a priviledge of flying with him in his personal plane prior to an airshow. We had a blast.
