Just watched all 5. Sierra Hotel! That's the first video I've ever seen of the GAU-8 firing at night. What a massive fire ball. That's got to be tough on the pilots eyes. Even with NODS.

At 3:25 in the second video you see me on the headset.
I remember this day well, I was doing a chart A next to the jet they were filming, and one of the crew came over and asked \"hey who wants to be on TV?\"
It must have been 120 in the shade that day, and there I was jacking up and pushing two B-1 stands around the jet for them to tape from.

They wanted us to pretend to go through the launch procedures, so I climb up the ladder with the pilots gear, then down, then him up (pause for dramatic pose) then me up and strap him in, and climb down while he put son the helmet. We did this like 3 times. All of me except for that 1/2 second wound up on the cutting room floor.

Very interesting. I saw some fun stuff in there. The two MERS, with all the rest being TERs with rockets. Did they ever fly a load like that outside of testing? Awesome seeing loadouts like that. Solid bombs, solid rockets.

In the second video, about 5:36, the front view shows on station 9(?) a double thing. What is it?

Oh.. I see the GAU8 belches fire while shooting here, *without* smoke! Usually I just see a streak of smoke from the nose in a movie.. Now which of the 2 occurs when? I should know this when animating the simpelest A-10 action: firing the GAU8 (This is going to be a simple particle excersice in my 3D application when my model is done)

OMG that pilot at 2:40 movie 2 is SERIOUSLY good lookin'. Example of a woman having it all: Good looks and an A-10!

Yeah, she's fine. I remember the first time we were in Bagram she was always super cheerful in the mornings before sunrise coming out to accept the alerts. I saw her in the BX in Kuwait wearing shorts one day, I cant get that picture out of my mind 5 years later.

<-- Well, I should get back to that other beauty, at least she won't age.
