wish I knew the tail number, because all we had were 79 and 80 jets except for 2653.
But looking at the tail cap being painted on both sides they stopped painting the 76th tail on the inside with the \"New Paint Jobs\"only the outside was painted, I'm looking at mine right out of paint barn in early 1987 plus I'm looking at the nose, I don't see any
\"Bug Eyes\" so that could of been one of the \"Early Girls\"

But she'll fly again just with another Jet is the best way to look at it.

Thanks for the link Cajun. I'm surprised by how many have been \"Returned for Service.\" I'd always thought that when they headed to the \"Bone Yard\" that it was a one way trip.

Ice Pirate do you know how to read the AMARG list yes its AMARG now. The PCN number for this bird is AC004 you can see it on the nose. You think it looks bad in this shot you should look in side her we have raped it.
This is a old photo. As for the Returned to service the only ones that have left are trainers and statics and the ones that are to be studied(Killer Chicks bird) and a few others.

That A-10 was a \"Swap-out\" I made some calls and confirmed we didn't have any 77 models until after the war and then Jets were Swapped-out with others.
I thought I was loosing my mind for a minute there.

The \"Green Lizard\" is there 62-4476 T-39 (DCC from 12/83 to 3/85)
Not long after I left they got the Gulf Stream to replace her and then she was transfered to the Navy before being retired.

The C-140A models I worked on when I was a \"Young Pup\" all have been Scrapped

The last Jet I was a Crew Chief on C-141B 65-0234 is \"Scrap Metal\" and she had that \"Pretty New paint Job \" last time I saw her.

Plus the 2 Huey's we had at Yokota AB Base Flt we were crossed trained to work on have been \"Scrapped\"

MY very first Jet I was assigned too as a ACC T-39A 61-0634 is on a Display at Dyess AFB

Man kinda makes you feel \"Old\"


But I'm glad the \"Old Girl 0166\" is still flying

I was also amazed to see the pic of the LC-130. It's 06 one of the ski equipted models that were with VXE-6. My first flight to McMurdo was made on that bird. 8 hours from Christchurch NZ to McMurdo station on Ross Island. What a flight that was. The very next year, the NYANG took over for the Navy and VXE-6 was disbanded.

I'll have to check my old pics from then and see if I can't find a pic of 06 in the air over The Ice.

Ice Pirate, a lot of those were only transfered to the \"Bone Yard\" on paper. Many of the tail numbers listed never made it there. If you look at the dates, that's when the hog was scheduled to be retired but as everyone knows, it didn't happen.

Could these transfers reflect work done on these aircraft when AMARC is used as a overflow for depot work l? i.e. EGI and SLEP.

Good question Kungfu, the dates are right for a lot of them.

At least the aircraft type will remain in service for a long time to come (2028+ ?). The A-10 will probably see my retirement even though it was brought into service before I was born...

I believe you are right...mostly on the SLEP/Hog-up side where they used the wings and not the EGI mod.

Is the flap wedge still good? I need a flap wedge!!
