Here's a video I took of Tex and Maizie Hill last year at the Flying Tigers/AVG reunion in Ft Walton Beach. A bunch of A-10 guys from Pope were there, along with a bunch of the \"originals\". What an amazing few days!

Anyway, I thought you guys would enjoy Maizie's poem for the A-10 pilots and Tex's Aggie joke. These two wonderful people introduced my mom and dad...

Shark 1 indeed! How'd you know?

I have a lot more video, and pix too... what an experience, one I'll treasure for the rest of my life. Medal of Honor recipient Bud Day spoke right after Tex. What an inspiring talk!

And I want to hook up with the current/recent 75th A-10 guys I met and shared several long evenings with. I lost my notes :-( and as you might imagine, evenings were a bit hazy.

I found this forum because I think the A-10 is the #1 fighting aircraft period. You can fight other aircraft, but fighting for/with the guys on the ground is the \"real thing\". The fact that senior brass were not interested until they needed the capability is icing on the cake!!!! Sort of like snipers -- not glamorous but so very important and so effective!

Bob

I didn't know Tex personally, but the man was a legend. I attended his funeral last week so I could pay my respects to someone who did so much for his country...there is a thread on here about it. The church was packed, and Texas Gov Perry was one of the speakers. The man knew how to get the most out of life...

Cheers! M2
