Both engines?

Hope he made it out okay. Doesn't look like fun when watching him eject....

Had to laugh at the A-6 that missed it's trap. Both pilots eject, and then the bird climbs into the air on it's own. That'd be my kind of luck. Just when you punch out, the bird straightens up, and flies right on back to base and lands without me.

There is also another A-10 crash, at an airshow somewhere, on the video \"Broken Wings 2007.\" I think that's the one I've seen a series of stills from. There is a large \"97\" painted on the engine. Any body got the story behind that one?

The A-10 video shows why we now have continous ignition during gun firing. It also shows the Martin Baker ESCAPAC seat as it almost hits the pilot after the chute opened. Also a change since the orginal version of the Hog.

Not trying to throw rocks coach but the ESCAPAC was a Douglas product. I worked the hog when it had the ESCAPAC seat in it!

That was at the Paris Air Show in 1977, the aircraft failed to recover from a loop.
The Fairchild Republic test pilot Howard 'Sam' Nelson was killed.
