Hey Dice,
You ever thought about \"How they came-up with the \"Stencils\" for the different \"Kills & Targets\"????????
It was a 76th AMU Weapons crew. If I can find Carl he might know which crew, but I remember while we were Generating the Jets the first time (Yes we Armed then had to DE-arm every jet then Re-ARM THEM a few days later)
They were sitting in the \"Weapons Pit\" by the Snack Bar and got a set of those \"Warsaw-Pac\" ID cards with the silhouettes and cut them out then traced them enlarged them. They Had them \"huge\" like MB but that didn't go over so they scaled them back.
NO used the \"Slash mark\" we went with the \"STAR\".
I don't know if any jets still had them, but they did for awhile after the Truck Kills got \"LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnngggggggggggg!\"
They were painting a \"White \" Star for every 5 kills and \"Red\" for each single. Then I guess they ran out of White paint or something they went all RED again so some jets could actually have a \"HIGHER KILL record\".
The Idea was after the war was to put a \"WHITE STAR\" with Total Kills for each on the jet and we even talked about putting a \"Tank\" score next to the pilots name by the \"Name Block\" and the Jets Kills would stay on the #2 side.
But I left the day before it ended, and then found out WHAT THEY DID ANYWAY! Wash the Kills -Off so we didn't look like we were \"Gloating\"!
But that's where we got the \"Kill Stencils\"
