Related SR-71 story, and I'm trying to remember where I read it...Sometime either before or after the strike on Libya (I can't remember which) the Air Force sent an SR-71 to take pics. The French denied permission to overfly their country, so the SR had to fly from England, south past Spain and Portugal, and enter the Med through the strait of Gibraltar. The flight down and over the target went by without any problems, but when they turned for home they had an engine problem. Not wanting to take a long detour with a sick plane, the crew decided to cut across France heading back to base. Flying much lower and slower than usual, they were intercepted by a Mirage, and had a short radio coversation where the French pilot asked for their clearance (or something like that). The backseater on the SR told the pilot something to the effect of "I just gave it to him...let's get out of here." It turned out the the backseater flipped the bird to the French pilot, and they took off, leaving the Mirage in the dust.

Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly and for the same reason.
