I was about to ask the same question, I'm assuming that he's referring to the paint job on the 747 that isn't on the front/bottom of the jet, so he thought it was something different.

Its called "spraylat". Its used to seal the areas underneath it and its also a UV block for the cockpit to keep the temps down inside.
