"Betty" or "Bitching Betty" as she is more commonly called is what we in the A-10 world call the voice that say's "Pull up, pull up...altitude, altitude.." Basically "she" gives verbal warnings....

I didn't know the A-10 had that. I thought it was only in advanced planes.

Why a female voice for betty?

Most pilots and other radio-callers are male.... when you hear a female you know there's something wrong.....

But oke>... I'm still desperately seaking for sound files... can someone post me the A-10 Cuba sounds?

No, now there are many females in the AF. A sultry, sexy seductive voice would be good, except pilots would than start trying to hump the radio.<img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Why not? Kazaa K++ Win XP Version (2.4.1, I think) is amazing.

So just get an earlier version of Kazaa. It's all the same except for the add-ons, such as AVI preview and stuff like that.

I had read somewhere that ergonomic engineers within the aerospace industry had proposed that each pilot have bitchin betty programed with the voice pattern of the wife or significant other in order to increase response time from the pilot or applicable aircrewman. I think if you wanted to hurt a pilot you could program it with the voice of the monster-in-law because the pilot would just naturaly ignore everything she would say. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson

Way back in the early 1990's the folks at McClellan AFB. modified the A-10 with the LASTE MOD that placed Mirco-Wave Transceiver on the tails, wings, and fufelage that does two handy things. 1st it augments the standard Auto-Pilot and gives the A/C a terrain following ability and gave the A-10 pilot for the first time his/her own bitching betty to inform them to "pull-up pull-up". Secondly the system intergrates with the flight controls to stabilize the A/C when the gun is fired making the gun platform much more accurate. When I deployed to Desert Storm we at the 2951st CLSS had already modified a bunch of A-10's with the MOD but were surprised to find none of the LASTE birds there. I had an opertunity to ask the Base Commander at King Faud Intl. Airport why no LASTE birds and he explained that the A-10 was already making the F-16 look bad enough without the MOD.
